Gangtok & Darjeeling with Tsomgo Lake

Upon your arrival at Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station, meet our representative and begin a scenic drive to the beautiful hill station of Gangtok (approximately 125 km / 4.5-5 hours). The journey offers breathtaking views of lush green valleys, winding mountain roads, and the majestic Teesta River flowing alongside. On reaching Gangtok, check in to your hotel and relax after the journey. In the evening, you may take a leisurely walk along MG Marg, Gangtok's famous pedestrian street, where you can enjoy local cafés, shopping, and the vibrant atmosphere. After an early breakfast, proceed for a full-day excursion to the magnificent Tsomgo Lake (approximately 40 km from Gangtok), situated at an altitude of 12,400 feet. This glacial lake remains surrounded by snow-covered mountains for most of the year and is considered sacred by the local people. Visitors can also enjoy optional yak rides along the lakeside. Continue your journey to the revered Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir, dedicated to an Indian Army soldier whose legendary story continues to inspire visitors. The temple is an important pilgrimage site and offers spectacular mountain views. After sightseeing, return to Gangtok by evening. Spend the rest of the evening at leisure. After breakfast, enjoy a half-day sightseeing tour covering Gangtok's major attractions. Visit Tashi View Point, offering panoramic views of the Himalayan ranges (weather permitting), followed by Ganesh Tok and Hanuman Tok, two beautiful hilltop temples known for their peaceful surroundings. Continue to the Flower Exhibition Centre, showcasing seasonal Himalayan flowers, and visit the Institute of Tibetology, one of India's premier centers for Tibetan studies. Explore the Cottage Industry & Handicrafts Centre, where traditional Sikkimese handicrafts are displayed. Later, visit Do Drul Chorten Monastery, one of Gangtok's most significant Buddhist stupas. The afternoon is free for shopping or personal activities at MG Marg. Overnight stay in Gangtok.

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to the charming hill station of Darjeeling. The picturesque drive passes through beautiful tea gardens, rivers, and mountain landscapes. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel. The remainder of the day is free for relaxation or independent exploration. In the evening, you may stroll through Chowrasta Mall Road, enjoy local cuisine, or shop for famous Darjeeling tea and handicrafts. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.

Early in the morning (around 4:00 AM), drive to Tiger Hill to witness the spectacular sunrise over Mount Kanchenjunga (subject to weather conditions). On the return journey, visit the historic Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop, a unique spiral railway track offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Return to the hotel for breakfast. Later, proceed for local sightseeing covering the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park (closed on Thursdays), the Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Centre (closed on Sundays), Tea Garden, Japanese Temple, Peace Pagoda, and Ropeway (optional and subject to operation).
