Trans-Himalayan Odyssey — Srinagar to Leh

Arrive Srinagar Airport. Meeting and assistance on arrival and transfer to Hotel. Later, visit Mughal Garden "Nishat" (The Garden of Pleasure) and "Shalimar" (Abode of All). Drive along the Lake side on Boulevard On return visit a local Handicrafts Emporium for hand-knotted specialty silken carpets, shawls, jewellery ornaments. After lunch, in second half day Visit Shankaracharya Temple. Evening, enjoy 01 Hour Boat Ride on Dal Lake by a gondola Boat called "SHIKARA" witness the ride on lake, called Venice of India & experience the aquatic life of Srinagar. Also see the scenic extravaganza of the Kashmir and enjoy the profusion of colors in the Paradise on Earth. While returning visit to the local crafts market and see the fine carved hand-made articles from Paper Machie & wood of a walnut. Overnight at the Deluxe Houseboat.

After early morning breakfast transfer to Kargil. En route, pass through the beautiful meadows and valleys of Sonamarg, popularly known as the "Meadow of Gold. "Continue your journey through the legendary Zoji La Pass, one of the most thrilling mountain passes in India, offering panoramic views of snow-clad peaks and rugged terrain. Further ahead, visit the historic Drass War Memorial, dedicated to the brave soldiers of the Kargil War. Drive through the picturesque Drass Valley, known as the second coldest inhabited place in the world. Arrive in Kargil by evening and check into your hotel. Enjoy dinner and relax after the long yet scenic drive. Dinner & Overnight stay in Kargil.

After breakfast, proceed towards Leh. En route, visit the ancient Lamayuru Monastery, one of Ladakh's oldest monasteries, famously surrounded by the unique "Moonland" landscape. Continue your journey along the Indus Valley and visit the renowned Alchi Monastery, famous for its ancient murals and Buddhist artwork. Drive past the spectacular confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers at Sangam. Visit the sacred Gurudwara Pathar Sahib and witness the fascinating phenomenon at Magnetic Hill. Arrive in Leh by evening and check into the hotel. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure.

Breakfast at the hotel.Early Morning Leave NUBRA VALLEY passing thru Horzey & Gangles Village. The road then rises to reach Khardongla (5602 Mts.) the world's highest Motorable road & enjoy the landscape & the beautiful birds eye view of the Leh town. Halt for a picnic at Khardongla village + Another 35 Kms drive takes to Khalsar at Shyok Valley, where the scenery is all around. The road after crossing Khalsar Bridge at Shyok River enters Nubra Valley & then proceed along the Nubra River to arrive in the afternoon at Tegar or Kyegar as locally called. Meals & Overnight stay at the Camp.

After Breakfast transfer to Pangong via Agham Shyok Road. This route follows the Shyok River from Agham to Shyok Village, 36 km. However, 14 km past Agham the road crosses the river without bridge. In summer the river is far too dangerous to ford, making it impossible to reach the other side. Dinner & Overnight at the Camp.

Enjoy the landscape in the back drop of the Lake. This famous blue brackish Lake of Pangong is 5/6 Kms wide and over 144 Kms long with half of its running the other side of the "INDO CHINA BORDER". One rarely feels so close to nature and environment and the scenery is unforgettable. In the late afternoon drive back to Leh. Dinner& overnight stay in Leh.

After morning breakfast, proceed for a day Sightseeing trip to Shanti Stupa, a true Buddhist architectural gem. Later, visit Leh Palace, very famous Leh monastery. In evening, proceed to explore local markets. Return to Leh for dinner & overnight stay at Hotel.
