Enchanting Kerala — Munnar, Thekkady & Alleppey Houseboats

Very first day your Kerala journey begins on arrival at Kochi, where our representative will meet and greet you at the airport or railway station and assist you with a comfortable private transfer to Munnar. The drive takes approximately 4 to 5 hours and is one of the most scenic routes in South India, passing through lush green hills, spice plantations, waterfalls, and winding mountain roads of the Western Ghats. Enroute, you may enjoy short stops at Cheeyappara and Valara waterfalls along with panoramic views of tea gardens and rubber plantations. Upon arrival in Munnar, you will check in to your hotel or resort and spend the evening at leisure, relaxing in the cool climate and peaceful surroundings. Overnight stay will be in Munnar.

Second day, after breakfast at the hotel, you will proceed for a full-day exploration of Munnar, a hill station known for its endless tea plantations and mist-covered valleys. The sightseeing experience includes a visit to Eravikulam National Park, where you can witness the rare Nilgiri Tahr in its natural habitat, followed by the Tea Museum where the history and processing of tea in Kerala is beautifully showcased. Later, you will visit Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, and Kundala Lake, where optional boating activities can be enjoyed depending on weather conditions. The day continues through scenic viewpoints, rolling tea gardens, and photography stops before returning to the hotel in the evening for an overnight stay in Munnar.

After breakfast and check-out, you may either continue exploring Munnar or proceed towards Thekkady (optional extension included in most 5-day itineraries). If Thekkady is included, the journey takes you through spice plantations and forested landscapes, offering a rich aromatic experience of Kerala's famous cardamom, pepper, and cinnamon farms. In Thekkady, you can enjoy activities such as Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary boating, elephant junction visits, or spice plantation tours. If Thekkady is not included in your package, the day is instead spent in leisure in Munnar or can be used for local exploration and relaxation. Overnight stay will be in Munnar or Thekkady depending on the itinerary selection.

On the fourth day, after breakfast, you will check out and proceed towards Alleppey, known as the "Venice of the East" for its beautiful backwaters and houseboat experiences. The drive takes around 5 to 6 hours, passing through scenic Kerala countryside and village landscapes. Upon arrival, you will board your private traditional houseboat where a warm welcome awaits you. The houseboat cruise begins through serene backwaters, narrow canals, coconut groves, and peaceful village settings, offering a unique glimpse into Kerala's rural life. Freshly prepared Kerala cuisine will be served onboard, including lunch, evening tea with snacks, and dinner. As the day ends, the houseboat anchors at a calm location for an overnight stay amidst nature.

On the last day, enjoy breakfast while watching the sunrise over the backwaters. After check-out from the houseboat, you will be transferred back to Kochi for your departure. If your flight or train timing permits, a short sightseeing tour of Kochi can be arranged, covering attractions such as Fort Kochi, Chinese Fishing Nets, Marine Drive, and St. Francis Church, depending on your schedule. Later, you will be dropped at Kochi airport or railway station, marking the end of your memorable Kerala journey filled with nature, culture, and scenic beauty.
